Fatal Decatur, Illinois car crash death of John Phillips – Obituary

Authorities have confirmed the death of an elderly man following a two-vehicle collision in Decatur on Thursday. The victim has been identified as 82-year-old John Phillips, a former mayoral candidate and library board trustee.

Decatur police reported the crash occurred just before 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of North 24th and East Eldorado Streets.
