Fatal Oneida County, Wisconsin UTV crash death of Paul Vedder – Obituary
Authorities have confirmed the death of a man found trapped under a UTV in Oneida County last month. Paul Vedder, 58, of Hazelhurst, sustained fatal injuries in the incident.
According to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, emergency responders were called after a running UTV was reported near Lake Kaubashine in the town of Hazelhurst, but no driver was visible. Vedder was discovered pinned beneath the vehicle.
Responders performed CPR at the scene and transported Vedder to Marshfield Medical Center, where he was later airlifted for further medical care. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries.
Officials have not released additional details regarding how the crash occurred. Multiple agencies assisted at the scene, including the Minocqua Police Department, Oneida County Dive Team, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Oneida County Ambulance, and fire and rescue departments from Hazelhurst, Newbold, and Minocqua.
