William Goodwin, 67, lost his life after being struck by a tractor-trailer on Interstate 27 in Lubbock early Tuesday morning.
Authorities responded to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian around 3:15 a.m. near the 5000 block of I-27. Upon reaching the scene, first responders found Goodwin standing in the roadway and pronounced him dead at the site.
Preliminary findings indicate that Goodwin was in the path of a northbound tractor-trailer at the time of the impact. Police have stated that there is currently no evidence suggesting the driver was at fault, though the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
