Daniel Arthur Leone IV, 29, has been identified as the motorcyclist who died following a collision in the Bethesda-Chevy Chase area earlier this week. The crash occurred near the intersection of Manor Road and Connecticut Avenue.
Emergency crews responded to the scene around 6:14 a.m., where Leone was pronounced dead shortly after the incident.
According to investigators, the crash happened when a woman driving a Tesla Model Y attempted to make a left turn from southbound Connecticut Avenue onto Manor Road. During the turn, the vehicle was struck by Leone’s northbound BMW S1000 motorcycle.
The driver of the Tesla remained at the scene and was later taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
Authorities stated that the investigation is still ongoing and could take an extended period to complete as officials continue to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
