A man identified as 37-year-old Desmond Mitchell was killed following a late-evening shooting in Louisville’s Taylor Berry area, where gunfire broke out along Algonquin Parkway.
The incident happened around 10:50 p.m. in the 900 block of Algonquin Parkway, according to police. Officers responding to reports of shots fired found Mitchell suffering from gunshot wounds at the scene. Emergency medical personnel arrived shortly after, but he was pronounced dead where he was found.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirmed Mitchell’s identity following the shooting. Louisville Metro Police said the event took place Wednesday night and that investigators are still working to determine exactly what led up to the violence.
