Fatal West Philadelphia shooting death of Imani Ringgold – Obituary
Imani Ringgold, a 20-year-old woman, was killed in a shooting in West Philadelphia earlier this week, and authorities say she was not the intended target.
The incident happened on the evening of April 7 along the 5900 block of Market Street, where Ringgold was shot while two others were also wounded.
According to police, Ringgold had just purchased food from a nearby business and was on her way to work when she encountered the gunfire. Investigators believe she was mistakenly targeted due to her proximity to the intended victims.
Surveillance footage shows a dark-colored SUV pulling up near 60th and Market streets before three masked individuals exited the vehicle and opened fire in her direction. The vehicle was later located abandoned.
Police have identified two suspects in connection with the shooting, 26-year-old Mustafa King and 21-year-old Zaire Manning, while efforts continue to identify two additional individuals seen in the footage. Authorities are also searching for information about a second vehicle possibly linked to the suspects.
Officials are urging anyone with information to come forward, noting that a reward is being offered for details that lead to an arrest and conviction.
