Authorities have identified 17-year-old Kenny Rodriguez as the victim of a fatal shooting in Chesapeake, Virginia.
Police responded to the 900 block of Landing Creek Drive at approximately 11:05 p.m., where they discovered Rodriguez suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to a nearby hospital but later died from his injuries.
Family members confirmed that Rodriguez was a student at Deep Creek High School, adding to the impact of the tragedy within the local community.
Investigators say the suspects were seen leaving the area in a gray SUV, but no arrests have been made and those responsible have not yet been identified.
The Chesapeake Police Department continues to investigate the incident and is asking anyone with information to come forward.
