Fatal Newton County crash death of Dorbina Nithan – Obituary

A tragic head-on collision on State Highway 43 in Newton County, Missouri, claimed the life of 52-year-old Dorbina Nithan of Springfield. The crash, which occurred just before 8 p.m. on November 3, 2024, involved Nithan’s vehicle, which crossed into the southbound lane, colliding with a vehicle driven by 77-year-old Linda Johnson of Jay. The impact caused a fire, and Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene. Nithan succumbed to her injuries at Mercy Hospital on November 3, while a 60-year-old male passenger in Nithan’s vehicle sustained minor injuries. Additionally, Johnson’s 71-year-old passenger, Bonnie Stenzel, was seriously injured. The Missouri Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
