A 14-year-old boy, Omar Meraz Hernandez, tragically lost his life in a multi-vehicle crash on Saturday afternoon in Phoenix. The incident occurred at 3:10 p.m. at the intersection of 35th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road, when the driver of a vehicle, later identified as a man, lost control and crashed into a pole.

Hernandez, who was a passenger in the car, was rushed to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The driver and a female passenger were also transported with life-threatening injuries.

Phoenix police have stated that impairment was not a factor in the crash, and the investigation into the cause is ongoing. The intersection was closed for several hours during the investigation.
