Fatal Milford, DE motorcycle crash death of Robert D. Pierce – Obituary

Robert D. Pierce, a 34-year-old man from Greenwood, lost his life Friday evening in a motorcycle accident that occurred on North Church Street in Milford, Delaware.

The crash happened around 6:00 p.m. on May 2, 2025, when a white Chevrolet Malibu traveling northbound began making a left turn into a residence. At the same time, Pierce, riding a black Suzuki GSX1300 motorcycle, attempted to pass the car on its left at a high speed. The motorcycle struck the driver’s side of the turning Malibu.

Emergency responders arrived promptly and began efforts to save Pierce, who was then transported to a nearby hospital. Despite medical intervention, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The Malibu’s driver, a 62-year-old man, was not injured. A 43-year-old woman who was a passenger in the car suffered minor injuries and received treatment at a local hospital before being released.

Authorities closed North Church Street between North Street Extended and Bright Way for approximately three and a half hours while investigating the collision.
