Fatal Gastonia car crash death of Cassie Hawkins – Obituary

Cassie Hawkins, 38, of Kings Mountain, was killed in a tragic collision Friday morning in Gastonia. The deadly accident occurred shortly before 8 a.m. on the I-85 South ramp from Bessemer City Road.

According to Gastonia Police, a Honda Accord entered the path of an Infiniti, resulting in a serious crash. Cassie Hawkins, who was a passenger in the Honda, was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene.

Both drivers involved in the crash were transported to a nearby hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening. Their identities have not been released, and police have not yet stated whether charges will be filed.

The incident is still under investigation by Gastonia authorities.
