Kyle Armstrong dies in fatal Cobbosseecontee Lake fishing incident

Fatal Cobbosseecontee Lake fishing incident death of Kyle Armstrong – Obituary

Kyle Armstrong, 27, from Pittson, Maine, was found dead in Cobbosseecontee Lake in Monmouth after going missing during a fishing trip on Tuesday.

Armstrong had gone bass fishing around noon but did not return home by evening, prompting his family to alert the Maine Warden Service. A search began at about 9:30 p.m. that night.

While Armstrong’s boat was discovered at 1 a.m. Wednesday, his body was not with the vessel. A civilian found his body in the lake approximately 6:30 a.m. that same day. Armstrong was wearing a life jacket at the time.

Officials believe he may have experienced a medical emergency, but the cause of death remains under investigation. His body has been sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for further examination.
