Hazleton, PA Man Jose Sandoval Perez Arrested in Luzerne County for Fatal Bar Shooting

HAZLETON, PA — Jose Sandoval Perez, a resident of Hazleton, was arrested in Luzerne County in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred early Sunday morning at a local bar.

According to Hazleton Police, Sandoval Perez was taken into custody shortly after the incident at Sazon Latino Bar and Restaurant II, where the shooting erupted around 1:30 a.m. Surveillance footage and witness accounts helped authorities identify and locate him. One man was found unresponsive on the bar floor and later died at the hospital. A second victim was injured but alert and talking.

Sandoval Perez was transported to Luzerne County Correctional Facility and is currently facing multiple charges, including theft of a firearm, carrying a firearm without a license, and reckless endangerment.
