Fatal Kerrville, Texas car crash death of Jose Alberto Montes – Obituary

Jose Alberto Montes, 27, lost his life during a high-speed crash in Kerrville, Texas, after attempting to evade law enforcement late Saturday night, May 24.

According to police, an officer noticed a broken headlight on a 2012 Chevrolet pickup truck and tried to initiate a traffic stop around 10:35 p.m. on Harper Road. Montes, who was behind the wheel, accelerated away in an attempt to flee.

Within half a minute, the vehicle veered off the road and collided with a parked car near the intersection of Harper Road and Lake Drive. The impact redirected the truck into a telephone pole before it overturned and came to rest against a nearby home.

Montes was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the fatal incident.
