A deadly shooting that took place early Sunday morning in Huntsville, Alabama, has claimed the life of 34-year-old Alexander Dominique Dennis Sr., according to local police.

The Huntsville Police Department reported that officers responded to a call about an ongoing shooting on Seminole Drive shortly before 4 a.m. Upon arrival, they found Dennis suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to Huntsville Hospital in critical condition, where he later died that afternoon from his injuries.

A second man was also injured during the incident, but his wounds were not considered life-threatening. He was taken to the hospital by a private vehicle and is expected to recover.

Authorities have launched an investigation, with the HPD Major Crimes Unit leading the case to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
