Fatal Holmes County, Mississippi car crash death of Calvin Cox – Obituary

Calvin Cox, 37, of Lexington, Mississippi, and his 11-year-old son D’Kbryn Cox tragically lost their lives in a car accident late Saturday night in Holmes County after their vehicle collided with a fallen tree on the road.

According to Trooper Jose Watson with the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 10 p.m. on Highway 14. Calvin Cox was driving a 2004 GMC Sierra westbound when he struck a tree that had partially fallen into the roadway. Both he and his son D’Kbryn were pronounced dead at the scene.

A second child, 13-year-old D’Kvyon Cox, who was also in the vehicle, was transported to a hospital for medical care. His current condition was not immediately available.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the exact cause of the collision.
