Yahya Ahmed-Mohamoud, 31, was identified as the victim who lost his life in a shooting incident in Toronto’s Lawrence Heights neighborhood earlier this week.

Toronto police responded to reports of gunfire around 8:37 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Ranee Avenue and Varna Drive. According to police, three suspects approached a group of individuals, drew firearms, and opened fire.

Ahmed-Mohamoud was among six people struck by gunfire in the attack. He was transported to the hospital but later died from his injuries. The other five victims—three men, one woman, and one youth—sustained injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

The suspects fled the scene immediately after the shooting. Police described them as males dressed in dark clothing with their faces covered, each armed with a firearm.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers as the investigation continues.
