Fatal Beach Park domestic violence shooting death of Eleric Lyon – Obituary

Eleric Lyon, 24, of Beach Park, Illinois, lost her life early Thursday morning in a domestic violence-related shooting in Zion. According to the Lake County Coroner’s Office, she was shot multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene.

Zion police and emergency crews were called to a home in the 3400 block of Clover Lane just before 4:15 a.m. There, they found both Lyon and 24-year-old Jacob Christ with gunshot wounds. Christ was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center, where he died from a single self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Authorities believe the two were in a relationship and had been arguing through the night before the fatal incident occurred. A firearm registered to Christ was recovered at the scene and is believed to be the weapon used.

Police stated that the shooting appears to be an isolated murder-suicide, and no other individuals are believed to be involved. The investigation is ongoing.
