Kentez Jamar Cunningham dies following Ensley shooting
Tragically, Kentez Jamar Cunningham, a 34-year-old man from Birmingham, passed away more than a year after sustaining gunshot wounds in an Ensley incident.
The fatal shooting occurred on May 31, 2024, around 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of 24th Street and Avenue D in Ensley.
Cunningham was pronounced deceased at 6:17 a.m. on Wednesday at Arlington Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office officially classifies his death as a homicide. Lead Deputy Coroner Matt Angelo confirmed this determination.
