Jade Hardin Dies in Fatal Phoenix Deaths
Fatal Phoenix deaths of Jade Hardin
A family in Tucson is hoping to secure custody of the newborn baby discovered alive after being alone for days beside her deceased mother’s body.
The infant girl, known as Harmony, is undergoing treatment in a hospital following her rescue from an apartment complex in Phoenix last month.
Phoenix police indicated they suspect the baby was wrapped in a blanket, remaining beside her mother’s corpse for several days, until a neighbor initiated contact for a wellness check.
At the time of the discovery, Harmony was approximately three weeks old. Law enforcement reported she suffered from severe dehydration but was fortunate to be found before her condition deteriorated further.
Her mother was identified as Jade Hardin. Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding her untimely demise.
The family of Harmony’s half-brother, the seven-year-old DJ, intends to relocate the infant to Tucson to raise the siblings together.
DJ resides with his father, Derrick Hill, and his stepmother, Catherine Hill.
The Hills expressed shock upon learning about Hardin’s passing.
Catherine Hill remarked, “She [Hardin] frequently contacted us, but she didn’t do that, and my husband told me, and he said, ‘Something didn’t feel right.'”
Derrick Hill added, “As soon as I received the news [regarding her death], tears came instantly; it was the worst thing I could ever hear.”
The Hills’ goal is to reunite the siblings and integrate Harmony into their “blended family” structure, enabling DJ to grow up alongside his sister.
“We desire for her [Harmony] to experience the familial affection we provide for our children,” Derrick Hill stated.
“We prioritize family, and our wish is for her to feel that warmth,” Catherine Hill explained. “We possess abundant love to share, undoubtedly.”
The weekend following the discovery, Derrick Hill mentioned he was scheduled to bring DJ to meet Harmony for the first time and observe Mother’s Day with her together.
DJ had crafted a card, inscribed with the words, “I love you so much, Mommy.”
Hardin did not disclose the identity of Harmony’s father to the Hills, and the family is awaiting clarification on custody arrangements.
