A fatal motor vehicle accident claimed the life of Jeremy De La Torre on Saturday, occurring early morning during an unfortunate collision on I-270. The incident happened in Germantown, Maryland, resulting in the death of the 33-year-old from Frederick. Paramedics pronounced De La Torre deceased at the scene after the crash.
The fatal accident happened just before 3:00 a.m. Saturday. According to the Montgomery County Police Department, 25-year-old Ashley Salazar of Clarksburg was driving her Chevrolet Cruz in the wrong direction, southbound in the northbound lanes. This caused her to collide head-on with De La Torre’s vehicle, a Honda Accord. Both individuals were pronounced dead at the scene.
De La Torre, who was driving a Honda Accord, was a resident of Frederick. The other driver involved was 25-year-old Ashley Salazar from Clarksburg, operating a Chevy Cruz.
The incident took place on I-270 in the Germantown area. To address the road closure, the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration was notified. Northbound traffic on I-270 was closed overnight but was reopened on the morning of the crash. The Montgomery County Police Department is currently investigating the collision.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities continue to gather information about the incident.
