A fatal shooting at a Dallas shopping center resulted in the death of the mall’s owner, according to law enforcement reports. The incident occurred at The Shops at RedBird on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.

The victim, Jaime Alejandro Rokkett, was 53 years old and operated a small food business inside the mall. He was discovered with gunshot wounds after law enforcement arrived at the scene. Dallas police confirmed that he did not survive the injuries.

Investigators revealed that the accused individual, identified as Rashonda Lowe, had a prior court order prohibiting contact with Rokkett. This protective measure was obtained by Rokkett’s spouse, who provided details to authorities during the probe.

Security cameras captured footage of the two individuals interacting in the store for approximately sixty minutes before the violence erupted. The recording showed Lowe drawing a weapon and opening fire multiple times, followed by additional shots at close range as she exited the premises. Her vehicle, a white sports utility vehicle, was later tracked by surveillance systems and linked to her ownership.

Rokkett’s family members assisted in identifying the alleged shooter, and Lowe eventually surrendered to police in a nearby city.
