**Maxwell L. Krueger dies in fatal St. Croix County car crash**
A high-tech alert system prompted deputies to a fatal vehicle collision in western Wisconsin, resulting in the deaths of both drivers, officials reported.
The fatal accident happened shortly after 4 a.m. on Friday on a section of County Hwy. DD in Baldwin Township, the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office confirmed.
Deputies were dispatched to the scene after an automatic crash notification sent from a cellphone, the Sheriff’s Office stated.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, a 18-year-old driver from Emerald, Wisconsin, was heading west on Hwy. DD when his car collided head-on with an eastbound SUV being operated by a 24-year-old man from Baldwin. That man was identified as Maxwell L. Krueger. Both individuals died at the scene.
The Sheriff’s Office has not yet released information regarding which side of the road the collision occurred on.
