Fatal Hoosick car crash death of Susan Alexis Joe
New York State Police reports a devastating collision occurred at the junction of State Route 7 and State Route 22 in Hoosick on June 5th, 2025. This two-vehicle accident resulted in one fatality and left two individuals requiring medical attention.
The incident, which happened at roughly 10:32 AM, pitted a 2010 blue Mazda sedan against a 2010 red Honda sedan. Numerous emergency medical teams arrived promptly to assist the people involved in the accident.
Susan Alexis Joe, who was 25 years old and from Petersburgh, New York, was driving the Mazda sedan. Initial reports indicate she was located outside of her car with serious leg and hip injuries. Medical personnel provided initial care at the accident site before transporting her to Albany Medical Center.
Eighty-two-year-old Elizabeth Cain from North Adams, Massachusetts, was driving the Honda sedan. Troopers arrived to find Ms. Cain and her 84-year-old front-seat passenger, Claire Boyer of Williamstown, Massachusetts, still inside the vehicle. Emergency responders carefully removed Ms. Cain from the car and took her to Albany Medical Center with a suspected leg injury.
Despite the efforts of medical professionals, Claire Boyer was pronounced dead at the scene. Preliminary findings indicate that Ms. Cain was attempting to make a turn from State Route 22 onto State Route 7 when the collision happened.
Law enforcement continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding this accident.
