Fatal West Middlesex shooting death of Tyrell Askerneese

Law enforcement from multiple agencies was dispatched to a hotel in West Middlesex, Pennsylvania, following a warrant service that escalated late Thursday afternoon. The Pennsylvania State Police, the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, and the Shenango Township Police Department responded to the Park Inn by Radisson, initially seeking a suspect connected to the warrant.

Upon arrival, law enforcement reports indicate the suspect was armed and declined to surrender. In response, specialized tactical units, including SWAT teams and a Crisis Intervention Response Team, were deployed to the location later that afternoon. Following the shooting, the county’s coroner and a Pennsylvania State Police forensic investigator also arrived at the scene.

The authorities have not yet disclosed the specifics of the warrant linked to Askerneese. Local hotel guests reported that the police presence had initially been minimal on Thursday morning but expanded considerably by midday.

This incident is considered ongoing, with further updates expected from 21 News as additional information emerges.
