On August 3rd during the early morning hours, a motorcycle accident on Route 18 near Union Street led to the fatal outcome of a 37-year-old individual, as confirmed by the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.

New Bedford Police were called to the scene at about 2:30 a.m. after multiple 911 reports indicated a single motorcycle collision. Upon their arrival, they found a civilian already giving CPR to the injured individual who was located in the left lane between Union Street and Elm Street. The officers continued with emergency medical aid until EMS personnel arrived.

The man was then transported to a local hospital, where medical staff confirmed his death. The motorcycle involved in the crash was discovered nearby, and initial findings from the investigation suggest that the driver lost control of the vehicle.
