Fatal San Bernardino County shooting death of Anthony Lopez-Rodriguez

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office issued a statement on August 8, 2025, detailing an incident that began on Wednesday, August 6, at roughly 5:21 p.m. Law enforcement arrived at a home located on Third Avenue following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, deputies discovered Anthony Lopez-Rodriguez suffering from a bullet injury. Medical aid was administered by responding officers and emergency services, but Lopez-Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sheriff’s homicide investigators took control of the case after the initial response. According to preliminary findings, a physical confrontation occurred between family members prior to the fatal shot being fired. Lopez-Rodriguez and Danny Vicente were both equipped with firearms during the incident. Vicente discharged his weapon, which resulted in Lopez-Rodriguez’s death. The case file has been sent to the District Attorney’s Office for further review.
