Fatal Lubbock car crash deaths of Ruiz Pardo and Alexandra Oraz
Police have confirmed the identities of the two individuals who lost their lives and one who sustained injuries in a two-vehicle collision that occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning in southwest Lubbock.
Officers arrived at the reported incident scene shortly after 1:02 a.m., located at the 6500 block of Milwaukee Avenue. Upon their arrival, authorities found the driver of one passenger car, Ruiz Pardo, a 28-year-old, partially ejected from the vehicle. Emergency medical services transported him to University Medical Center, but he was pronounced dead later at the hospital.
The sole passenger in that vehicle, Alexandra Oraz, who was 31 years old, was also ejected from the car and died at the scene. The driver of the second passenger car, Jimmy Janssen, aged 34, suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to University Medical Center for treatment.
According to initial investigative findings, Janssen was allegedly traveling north on Milwaukee Avenue at a high speed when the collision occurred. Pardo was traveling south in the 6300 block of Milwaukee Avenue and was attempting to turn east into a nearby convenience store parking lot. The impact resulted in Pardo’s vehicle striking a utility pole.
Further contributing factors to the crash are still under review as the ongoing investigation continues.
