Fatal Polk County car crash death of Kathy Wimpfheimer
Minnnesota state authorities have officially identified the individual who lost their life in a serious road collision within Polk County.
Identified by state patrol representatives as the 67-year-old Kathy Wimpfheimer from Grand Forks, she was pronounced deceased following the incident.
Official records from the accident investigation state that the collision occurred on Thursday, the 7th of August, very early in the morning at 9 a.m.
At the time of the impact, the driver of the sport utility vehicle was a female resident of Grand Forks aged 67 years old, moving westbound along County Road 17.
Simultaneously, a semi-trailer truck was proceeding northbound on Highway 2 during that time period.
The operator of the commercial semi-truck involved in the accident has been confirmed as Tyler James Shaver, who is 27 years old and resides in Red Lake Falls, Minnesota.
Mr. Shaver was transported to the Altura Hospital facility for medical examination but was reported to have sustained only minor, non-life-endangering injuries.
