Nick Downen dies in fatal Wayne City car crash

Fatal Wayne City car crash death of Nick Downen

A young adult from Wayne City lost his life in a one-car collision on a dirt road crossing point located outside the area referred to as Sims. The occurrence happened during the very early hours of Sunday morning.

Official organizations were dispatched to the location by Illinois State Police, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Division, local city ambulance services, and the county medical examiner’s office. According to information, an occupant of the car sought assistance by walking to a nearby house before this happened.

That individual was taken to a medical center and doctors do not believe their injuries were serious. The driver, who was identified as Nick Downen, a local resident, was pronounced deceased at the scene at 4:20 a.m. by the county medical examiner’s office.

This incident is currently being examined by the relevant authorities.
