Fatal Henrico motorcycle crash death of Arnold Lee Powell, Jr.

Henrico law enforcement identified the individual killed in a fatal motorcycle accident that happened on August 10th as 57-year-old Arnold Lee Powell, Jr., a county resident. Around 8 p.m., police were dispatched to the intersection of River Road and Panorama Drive following reports about a motorcycle collision. Upon arrival, officers found Powell suffering serious injuries and immediately contacted medical services; he was transported to a nearby hospital but unfortunately passed away there. No other vehicles were involved in the incident.

According to a preliminary inquiry, Powell was traveling westbound on River Road toward Panorama Drive when his motorcycle veered off the roadway and collided with a utility pole. The impact ejected him from the bike, which then came to rest in the center of River Road. Henrico Police are collaborating with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the cause and manner of death. At this time, it is unknown if excessive speed or alcohol impairment contributed to the crash.
