According to the findings of the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office, a teenager from West Cocalico Township lost their life in a multi-vehicle collision that occurred Wednesday. The fatal accident happened on Martindale Road, located near Newswanger Road, roughly southeast of Ephrata Borough.
Law enforcement sources indicate that Gage Weaver, who was 19 years old and resided at Creek Road, was operating a Ford Mustang during the incident. He drove eastbound and suddenly veered into the westbound lane, leading to a collision with a Ford Econoline van. The driver of that van, identified as Mary Yoder-Desire, age 42 and from Ephrata, was involved in the crash. A third vehicle, a Honda CRV traveling westbound driven by Michael Mansi, age 45 from Chester County, subsequently crashed into the rear of the van. A passenger in the Econoline van was transported to a medical facility but was reported to have suffered only minor injuries.

Ephrata police Lieutenant Matt Randolph confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, with preliminary findings suggesting that excessive speed might have played a role in Mr. Weaver losing control of his vehicle. Lieutenant Randolph further stated that at this time, there are no plans to file charges against anyone in connection with this tragic incident.
