Jermia Offutt dies in fatal Chickasaw neighborhood shooting

Fatal Chickasaw neighborhood shooting death of Jermia Offutt

Authorities were alerted to a violent incident in the 4100 block of West Broadway around 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13th, following a report of gunfire.

When responding officers arrived at the scene, they located 28-year-old Jermia Offutt, who had suffered injuries from a gunshot wound.

Offutt was subsequently taken to the University of Louisville Hospital, but she did not survive and passed away within a short period after arriving at the medical facility.

The Louisville Metro Police Department has stated that no individuals are being sought at this moment, and they encourage anyone with relevant information to contact their confidential tip line at (502) 574-LMPD (5673).
