Wichita authorities identified the deceased at a Love’s Travel Stop in the city’s northeast sector as Abdelmuttalib Mohammed, a 57-year-old man from Georgia. According to police reports, a conflict initiated the tragic incident, culminating in a semi-tractor trailer making contact with the victim.

On August 13, 2025, emergency responders were dispatched to the 1500 block of East 21st Street North following reports of a serious accident at the travel stop. Upon arrival, they discovered Mohammed trapped beneath a large truck. Emergency Medical Services pronounced him deceased shortly after their arrival, with the time of death recorded at 5:32 p.m.

Investigators for the Wichita Police Department detailed that the fatal encounter involved a dispute with a 46-year-old Oklahoma man named Travis Briscoe. Preliminary findings indicate Briscoe was involved in a verbal altercation before the collision occurred while he was operating his commercial vehicle.

It’s reported that the two individuals did not have a prior relationship, which adds another layer of complexity to the ongoing case. Further examination is being conducted by investigators as they piece together the sequence of events leading to the death.
