Fatal Kanawha County car crash death of Devan Lawson

Deputies from the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office identified the individual who died in a serious traffic incident on Interstate 79 during the previous week. The law enforcement agency confirmed that Devan Lawson, who is nineteen years old and originally from Gallipolis, Ohio, was the person killed in the accident.

According to information released by the sheriff’s deputies, Mr. Lawson was driving the only vehicle involved in the collision. Officials reported that the Dodge pickup truck driven by Mr. Lawson was traveling north on the highway when it crossed over into the central dividing barrier. After striking a drainage system component, the vehicle turned over.

The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office reported that the fatal accident happened in the early morning hours of Monday, August 4th, close to the location of the 7-mile marker on I-79. The authorities stated that at the time of the investigation, there was no indication that speeding or impairment were contributing factors to the crash. They suggested that drowsiness might have been a possible cause, as Mr. Lawson was not wearing a seatbelt according to the findings.
