Fatal Harlan County car crash death of Phyllis Frazier
Kentucky State Police Post 10 received a report about a deadly two-vehicle accident at the intersection of US 119 and US 421, identified as Red Light #1 in Harlan County, occurring at around 11:26 a.m. on Wednesday, August 13th.
Upon arriving at the scene, state troopers initiated an official investigation, and it has been confirmed that two people have lost their lives due to the collision.
Harlan County’s Deputy Coroner, John Jones, arrived and pronounced both 79-year-old Phyllis Frazier from New Tazewell, Tennessee, and 45-year-old Franklin D. Saylor, Jr., from Baxter, Kentucky, deceased at 12:24 p.m. The families of both victims have been informed about this incident.
Following the accident, one person involved was transported to Harlan ARH Hospital for treatment. The Kentucky State Police operation was supported by various local agencies, including the Harlan Police Department, the Harlan County Sheriff’s Office, the Sunshine Fire Department, the Harlan Fire Department, Lifeguard Ambulance services, and the Harlan County Coroner’s Office.
