Fatal Sheridan car crash death of Jorden McCullough
A cyclist was traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 90 on August 2nd when they collided with a deer. The accident happened about 15 miles north of Sheridan within a construction zone identified by traffic cones separating the centerline.
Wyoming Highway Patrol reports indicated the cyclist hit the deer, lost control of their bicycle, and were separated from it. The cycle slid westward and ended up in a ditch, while the rider came to rest near the centerline and partly in the eastbound lane.
A few moments later, the driver of a 2024 Kia Sorento, also going eastbound, failed to spot the rider in the road and hit them, pulling the person along for a brief distance.
The rider named Jorden McCullough, who was 39 years old and from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, passed away at the scene.
No one inside the Kia was hurt, and no citations were handed out for the crash.
Press release data indicates there have been 77 fatalities on Wyoming roads in 2025, compared to 58 in the same period in 2024 and 90 in 2023.
