Baton Rouge law enforcement authorities have officially named the individual responsible for the fatal Wednesday morning shooting. Guadalupe Reyes Vasquez, who was 42, is identified as the person accountable for the death of Mirtalarellana Ramirez, who was 55.

Police officers were dispatched to a shooting scene that occurred before the early morning hour of Wednesday. The location was the 11200 block of Florida Boulevard. Mirtalarellana Ramirez, upon being taken to a hospital, unfortunately succumbed to her injuries later that day.

According to information gathered from witnesses at the crime scene, Ramirez and someone they referred to as a “male companion” had been engaged in a disagreement for a period of two weeks.

In the same early morning of Wednesday, homicide officers received notification from the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office deputies. They informed the police that a man had been discovered deceased due to a gunshot wound. The location for this second incident was the 16000 block of Hamilton Avenue.

The authorities confirmed through a released statement that the male discovered deceased had been positively identified as Guadalupe Reyes Vasquez. The statement further clarified that Vasquez was the one responsible for the fatal gunshot wound that caused the death of Ramirez.
