Nico Cuevas, 23, from Antioch, has tragically passed away following a drowning incident at Rio Vista’s Sandy Beach County Park.

Nico Cuevas, 23, from Antioch, has tragically passed away following a drowning incident at Rio Vista’s Sandy Beach County Park.

This unfortunate death occurred when Cuevas entered the water at the park on Wednesday afternoon. The Solano County Sheriff’s Office reported he submerged around 4:30 p.m. and did not resurface.

Search and rescue operations were initiated but were halted as darkness fell. The search resumed the following day with crews returning around 8 a.m. on Thursday. The body of the victim was located later that day, and death was confirmed.

Nico Cuevas was identified as the 23-year-old from Antioch who lost his life in this tragic event.
