Fatal Fairfield County shooting death of Laporsha Jasma Farr

Law enforcement officials announced the apprehension of three individuals connected to a fatal shooting in the Midlands region. The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office clarified that Benny L. Grady and William E. Mack have been taken into custody regarding the incident that occurred on Tuesday. A third person, identified as Jerry L. Jones, was arrested after a protracted three-hour standoff in Greenville County on Thursday.

Deputies from the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance report concerning gunfire at a house located on Durham Road in the Lake Wateree area on Tuesday. Upon their arrival, they reportedly encountered one individual without responsiveness and another person suffering from a gunshot wound to the hip.

The female individual who was found unresponsive has been identified as Laporsha Jasma Farr, a resident of Spartanburg. She did not survive her injuries and died at the scene. The other injured person was transported to a local medical facility and is currently being kept in stable health.

Further examination by investigators revealed that three men were present during a confrontation. According to the authorities, during this argument, one of the suspects retrieved a handgun, subsequently shooting Laporsha Jasma Farr in the neck and the other individual in the hip before escaping the scene.

Jerry L. Jones faces serious charges including murder, attempted murder, and possession of a weapon during a violent act. Benny L. Grady and William E. Mack each face accessory charges related to the murder.

Mack is currently being held at the Fairfield County Detention Center. As of Thursday afternoon, the locations where Jones and Grady have been processed and booked into custody are still unknown to the public.

The ongoing investigation indicates that this case is still in its preliminary stages, and further details may emerge as the probe continues.
