The tragic death of a father and his four-year-old son has been confirmed, following a collision on Green Road. The victims, identified as 33-year-old Braiden Ashley Timmins and his young son, Hendrix-Hemi Te Rongomau King, were killed when a utility vehicle struck them.
Mr. Timmins and his son were en route to a nearby convenience store, reportedly to purchase ice cream, before the incident occurred on Sunday. Their intended destination was a 7-Eleven service station located in the suburb of Regents Park, part of the Logan city area south of Brisbane.
According to reports, the pair was walking along Green Road, near the time of 11:15 am, when they were struck by a white dual-cab vehicle. The Queensland Police Service confirmed that both individuals sustained severe injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. The accident resulted in the death of the child and the father.
Eyewitness accounts and site footage indicate that a broken children’s bicycle lay nearby on the footpath. Police were seen comforting and escorting distraught relatives to the crash location. Officers provided support to a grieving male family member while other women nearby clung to each other and wept.
