Fatal Raleigh’s North Hills car crash death of Nazirah Eason
Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after 2:44 a.m. following a collision involving two motor vehicles. This occurred at the junction of Six Forks and Lassiter Mill roads, a location near the North Hills Shopping Center. One vehicle, a white Ford pickup, sustained damage primarily to its front section. The other car, a Dodge Journey sport utility vehicle that was carrying Nazirah Eason, became immobilized with its side facing downwards after the collision.
When officers arrived, they found Nazirah Eason, a 22-year-old female, lying injured in the southbound lanes of Six Forks Road. It was noted that Ms. Eason had not been secured with a seatbelt during the journey. The force of the impact had apparently ejected her from the vehicle which subsequently turned over. Medical personnel from Wake EMS were dispatched and arrived shortly after the initial officers. Unfortunately, despite the attempts made by the first responders, Ms. Eason was pronounced deceased at the scene by the emergency medical services team.
According to the initial police report, the preliminary examination of the crash suggests that the Dodge Journey struck the stationary white Ford pickup. The investigation indicated that Ms. Eason, who was operating the Dodge Journey, had entered the intersection despite the presence of a red light from the pickup’s direction. Consequently, the pickup did not need to move, remaining stopped at the traffic signal. The authorities concluded their investigation into this incident and decided not to pursue any charges against any party involved in the collision.
