Fatal Mason County car crash death of Sharon Vree.

Law enforcement sources confirmed on Thursday, August 7, that a 74-year-old female resident of Jenison was found deceased subsequent to a vehicular collision.

The county’s medical examiner has officially recognized the deceased as Sharon Vree.

A 41-year-old individual occupying a seat within the same motor vehicle suffered critical injuries and is currently receiving hospital care.

Investigators are actively examining the circumstances surrounding this incident.

On the same day, a separate accident occurred at the junction of Sugar Grove Road and Schoenherr Road within Sherman Township. Three individuals, including an 8-year-old minor, sustained injuries when their vehicle was struck head-on by a pickup truck with attached trailer.

The Mason County Sheriff’s Office has identified the occupants of the injured passenger car as a 74-year-old woman from Jenison and a 41-year-old woman from Saint Joseph, both of whom were transported to a healthcare facility in Grand Rapids with serious conditions.

Emergency services reported that the passenger car entered the intersection on a northbound trajectory along Schoenherr Road, came to a halt at a stop sign, and subsequently veered into the path of a vehicle traveling eastbound.

The pickup truck collided with the driver’s side door of the passenger car.

Sheriff’s deputies further indicated that the passenger vehicle subsequently overturned, and the impact caused the pickup truck to contact a power pole, resulting in the interruption of electrical services for the surrounding area.

The operator of the pickup truck, identified as a 34-year-old female from Twin Lake, incurred minor injuries and was attended to on the scene.

Preliminary findings suggest neither excessive speed nor impairment by alcohol contributed to the collision.

This matter is currently being assessed by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office’s specialized crash reconstruction division.
