Fatal Cumberland County shooting death of Thomas Smith, III

The Cumberland County authorities announced on Friday that they are seeking three individuals connected to the fatal shooting of a 20-year-old man. According to the prosecutor’s office statement, the incident involved gunfire resulting in the victim’s death.

On the evening of Friday, at approximately 6:53 p.m., Millville Police were dispatched to the vicinity of High and Oak Streets following an emergency call reporting a man with a head wound from a gunshot. Thomas Smith, III, was identified as the deceased and passed away due to his injuries shortly after the incident.

Investigators have pinpointed three suspects in this case. The individuals are Jequise R. Forrest, aged 19, from Green Street in Millville; Alonzo E. Mincey, also 19, residing at Laurel Street in Vineland; and Jerramiah J. Michael, who is 19 and lives on Charles Street in Bridgeton. These three have been formally charged with first-degree conspiracy to commit murder, first-degree murder, and several other offenses related to the event.
