William Michael Sandlin and Edison Kim Wallace die in fatal boat crash on Pickwick Lake

Fatal boat crash in Colbert County, Ala., involving two boaters

The fatal boat crash incident occurred on Pickwick Lake near Florence Harbor, resulting in the deaths of two individuals. The accident took place on Saturday night at approximately 9:15 p.m. Following the collision, the Sheffield Fire Department reported that one person was found deceased the night of the accident, while the second individual was initially missing. Tragically, the body of the second boater was located on Monday morning.

The Colbert County Sheriff’s Office identified the two victims as William Michael Sandlin, aged 63, and Edison Kim Wallace, aged 66. According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the passengers on the aluminum fishing boat were thrown overboard during the crash. The United States Coast Guard, ALEA’s Aviation Unit, and the ALEA Marine Patrol Division are continuing their search efforts for the missing boater.
