Fatal Madbury shooting death of Emily Long
State officials in New Hampshire provided new details regarding their probe into a recent incident. The inquiry points to a woman using a firearm who killed her partner and two of her offspring before ending her own life inside their residence on Monday morning in Madbury. According to a statement released by New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella on Wednesday.
Autopsy findings, detailed by Associate Chief Medical Examiner Abigail Alexander, indicate that the eight-year-old and six-year-old children both succumbed to single gunshot wounds to the head, officially classified as homicides. Chief Medical Examiner Jennie Duval determined that Ryan Long, the father, died from multiple gunshot injuries, also ruled a homicide. Officials confirm Emily Long died from a single gunshot wound to the head, officially classified as a suicide, as stated by the authorities.
Investigators believe a handgun located within the house was used by Emily Long in the early morning hours of August 18th, as per the official document. The officials issued a warning against attributing the killings to a single cause or stressor.
It was reported earlier in the week that a young child survived the event unharmed within the Moharimet Drive dwelling.
The authorities advised residents facing difficult circumstances to contact the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, or text TALK to 741741 for the Crisis Text Line.
