Fatal LeFlore County fire death of Dennis Beeson and Bette Beeson.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has confirmed that the two deceased individuals are 78-year-old Dennis Beeson and 76-year-old Bette Beeson. The authorities are treating their demise as a suspicious occurrence. LeFlore County Sheriff’s Office has asked for support from state and federal organizations following the couple’s passing in their house fire on Monday afternoon.
According to LeFlore County Sheriff Rodney Derryberry, emergency services were dispatched to a house on Branson Road, situated just outside the city limits of Poteau. When the fire department arrived, flames were visible on roughly half of the structure. Responders entered the building immediately to assist any individuals inside.
Derryberry informed 40/29 News that a female body was located in the living room, while a male was found near the rear entrance. Firefighters provided CPR on the two adults until paramedics arrived, but they did not survive the incident. A son, who was residing with his parents at the time, was outside the home when the fire engines came. Derryberry stated that the man experienced a sudden health crisis and was airlifted to a hospital in Tulsa in critical condition.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, the state fire marshal, and ATF officials have been called in to aid the sheriff’s office in exploring the reasons behind the deaths. Sheriff Derryberry noted that no preliminary clues were present to explain how the fire started or how the couple perished. The investigation is currently ongoing, with medical examiners set to arrive to establish the exact causes of death.
