A man reported missing was located deceased inside his wrecker truck, following a serious incident on a highway. The occurrence unfolded on a Saturday afternoon when a specific vehicle lost control. According to official sources, the Dodge Ram Wrecker was travelling eastbound on a stretch of I-24. This particular segment of the roadway is identified by a numerical marker near milepost 68. The vehicle subsequently deviated from the road and collided with an overhead sign structure and a tree nearby.
The identified driver of this 68-year-old male, whose full name is Danny E. Brown, was pronounced deceased at the scene due to the accident. Prior to the event, authorities from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office had flagged Brown as missing in a national database, the NCIC system. This information was relayed by the local Murfreesboro Police Department in relation to the case.
Emergency responders discovered the wreckage approximately an hour and a half into the afternoon, around 1:30 p.m. As a result of the investigation and traffic management, the eastbound flow of traffic on I-24 was temporarily stopped in the vicinity of mile marker 68. Law enforcement agencies, including the Tennessee Highway Patrol, were actively examining the situation to determine the causes and contributing factors. The Tennessee Department of Transportation later confirmed that all lanes designated for eastbound traffic were cleared and reopened to the public at 3:50 p.m.
