Fatal Mobile County shooting death of Frederick Buchanan

Mobile law enforcement is examining the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting of a 25-year-old man on Sunday and is submitting all collected evidence to the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office for potential charges.

The identity of the deceased was confirmed on Monday as Frederick Buchanan. He was discovered deceased at approximately 10 a.m. in the 5000 block of Quail Run East. Buchanan was found outside a residence with signs of a gunshot wound.

Further investigation by police has led to the identification of a suspect, a man believed to have fired the shot during a disagreement with Buchanan. The unidentified suspect remains at the scene; however, no apprehensions have taken place at this time.

Police authorities have concluded their initial investigation. All gathered evidence regarding the incident has been formally transferred to the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office. Law enforcement officials have announced that they will not be providing any further updates concerning this case.
