Police authorities in Lincoln have confirmed that 61-year-old Jeffry Baker was the victim of a fatal motorcycle accident occurring on the night of Saturday.
According to the Lincoln Police Department, the incident took place around 8 p.m. Baker was traveling north on 48th Street, close to the intersection with Leighton Avenue, when an SUV suddenly exited a nearby business and collided with his motorcycle.
Medical personnel transported Baker to a hospital, but despite prompt treatment, the authorities stated that he did not survive the injuries sustained in the collision. Further details revealed that at the time of the crash, Baker was not utilizing a helmet.
Regarding the other driver involved, the Lincoln Police Department mentioned that the SUV operator consented to a drug recognition examination administered by the department, even though there were no visible indications of impairment at the location where the crash occurred.
